Annelise is a Colorado native whose practice focuses on Criminal Defense. While in law school at the University of Colorado, Annelise interned with the Office of Public Defender in both Boulder and Adams Counties. Upon her admittance to the bar in 2009, Annelise, immediately began working for a highly-regarded civil and criminal litigation firm where she learned valuable trial skills in preparing direct and cross examinations. Ultimately, Annelise followed her desire to ensure that the rights of the criminally accused were met, and accepted a job with the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office. During her eight years as a Senior Deputy Public Defender, Annelise tried over 60 jury trials and handled cases involving sexual assaults, homicides and other felony matters.
While Annelise thoroughly enjoyed her employment as a Public Defender, she ultimately desired to broaden her legal knowledge so that she could reach out and help others in need of legal assistance. Annelise joined prestigious family law firm in May of 2018 where she continued to represent individuals charged with crimes and also began working on domestic relations cases. Her extraordinary trial skills, advocacy for clients, compassion for others and passion for the law make Annelise a tremendous asset to the Suazo Law team.
